Monday to Friday. This page excludes Saturdays and Sundays and nothing else.
Public holidays are deliberately left in. They differ by country, by state and sometimes by industry, and a calculator that quietly assumed one set would give most of its users a confidently wrong answer. If a holiday falls inside your range, subtract it yourself.
Where working days actually matter
Contracts that specify working days rather than calendar days, supplier lead times, notice periods, and the window some larger customers give you to dispute a charge. The difference compounds: ten business days is fourteen calendar days, twenty is twenty-eight.
Business days in 2026, month by month
Weekdays only, before any public holidays are taken off: January 22, February 20, March 22, April 22, May 21, June 22, July 23, August 21, September 22, October 22, November 21, December 23. That is 261 weekdays in 2026. Subtract the holidays your business closes for to get your own working days.
Counting between two dates
The count is exclusive of the start date and inclusive of the end date, which is the convention most contracts use. It also shows the calendar days and the weekend days in between, so you can see exactly where the difference came from rather than taking the number on trust.

What is a business day?

How many business days are in 30 calendar days?
Between 20 and 22. Thirty days is four full weeks, which is always 20 business days, plus two more days that are weekdays, weekend days or one of each depending on where you start. Enter the dates and the exact count is shown along with the weekend days that were skipped.
Does the calculator include the start date?
When counting between two dates, no: the count is exclusive of the start and inclusive of the end, which is the convention most contracts use.
Why are public holidays not excluded?
Because they differ by country, by state and sometimes by industry. Assuming one set would give most users a wrong answer with no warning, so the page leaves them to you.
What is the difference between net 30 and 30 business days?
Net 30 normally means thirty calendar days. Thirty business days is about forty-two calendar days, so the two are nearly two weeks apart. If a contract says working days, it matters.
How long is 5 business days?
One calendar week, when you start on a weekday: five business days from a Tuesday is the next Tuesday. Four business days from a Monday is Friday, but from a Thursday it is the Wednesday after, six calendar days. Each weekend crossed adds two calendar days.
Is Saturday a business day?
Not here. This calculator counts Monday to Friday only. Some banks and shops open on Saturday, so if your contract counts Saturdays, use calendar days instead.
How many business days are in a year?
There are 260 to 262 weekdays in a year, depending on the day it starts on and whether it is a leap year; 2026 has 261. The number of working days is lower once the public holidays where you work are taken off.
