The short version
A landscaping quote becomes firm once areas are measured and the plants, sod and mulch are named. A landscaping quote is a fixed offer: it names the scope, the price, what is not included, and the date the price is good until.

The example quote is for a measured front-yard refresh with sod, mulch and planting, agreed before work starts. The wording under each line is the kind of scope sentence you can copy and edit. Unit prices are example rates from the starter lines in the quote generator, not market prices, so replace them with your own.

Exclusions for a landscaping quote
- Irrigation repair or installation unless listed.
- Tree removal and stump grinding.
- Replacement of plants that fail through lack of watering after completion.
- Hardscape such as patios and retaining walls.
Change orders
A larger area or an added bed is priced at the per square foot and per cubic yard rates in the quote and agreed in writing first.
Not ready to commit to a price?
A landscaper gives an estimate after a first look at the yard, and a quote once the beds are measured and the planting scheme is agreed. If the scope is still open, start with the landscaping estimate template and give a range.
